At St Mary’s RC Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances. Pupil Premium funding is used to provide targeted support, high-quality teaching and wider opportunities that help to remove barriers to learning and promote academic success, wellbeing and personal development.

Our approach focuses on early intervention, strong pastoral support, high-quality teaching and enriching experiences that help children to thrive both in and beyond the classroom. Funding is used to support areas such as speech and language development, reading and phonics, attendance, mental health and wellbeing, curriculum enrichment and targeted academic support.

We carefully monitor the impact of our provision to ensure that disadvantaged pupils make strong progress and are fully included in all aspects of school life. Our strategy statement below outlines how we intend to use Pupil Premium funding and the impact it has on outcomes for our pupils.
